First international commission for innovative celebrity format with live final  

Amsterdam, 30 April 2024: Independent international distribution company Lineup Industries has scored a commission from RTL Netherlands for In Other News, Today, its innovative format that combines the best of lighthearted topical news in a 45’ celebrity quiz. The format has an added twist as a viewer is selected to receive the potential winnings, without having to answer a single question, in an 8’ final streamed live from their living room. The show will air on RTL4 daily from mid August.

The daily stripped show sees a studio host and three celebrity guests take part in a quiz, every question sourced in the last 24hrs from the news and the celebrities own social media feeds. The celebrities work together to win money for the prize pot by answering timely questions on any topic, including from their own lives. Throughout the show, viewers are encouraged to register through the show portal to have a chance to win the prize pot.

Each daily episode concludes with a second roving host surprising a registered viewer live at their home which becomes an extension of the studio. All they need to do is continue to watch the show at home with the second host, while the celebrity guests in the studio take part in the final round. The daily show culminates in a quick-fire final round for the celebrity contestants that decides whether the audience member wins the money or if gets rolled over to the following day.

In Other News, Today is created by Panenka (Taboo, Switch) and is in its third season on VRT where it has significantly increased its audience share.
