Commission marks first Latin American broadcast for the fast-paced format
Amsterdam. 30 July 2026. Independent international distribution company Lineup Industries is taking its gameshow format SWITCH to Latin America for the first time following a commission from SBT in Brazil where the show will be produced inhouse. SWITCH will air inside the container show Domingo Legal with a prize per episode of up to R$ 50.000,00 and will be hosted by legendary Brazilian host Celso Portiolli.
SWITCH is based on a format developed by Panenka for VRT in Belgium and distributed globally by Lineup Industries. It also airs in the US on Game Show Network, where it is produced by DIGA Studios and in Greece where VCM Production produces the format, including celebrity version, for primetime on the public broadcaster ERT1. The format has also been on air in the Netherlands and Germany.
In SWITCH, five players begin the game by taking positions behind large numbers from one to five. After a trivia question is asked, players with correct answers move towards the number one spot, and players with incorrect answers move towards the number five spot. The goal of the game is to finish the third round of questions in the number one position, thus winning the game and earning the right to play the bonus round for $10,000.
“I’m thrilled to present the Brazilian version of the global hit Switch. I’m confident it will bring even more entertainment and fun to Domingo Legal. It’s both an exciting challenge and something I’m certain will be a success. Let’s do this together!” says host Celso Portiolli.
Ed Louwerse, Founder of Lineup Industries, said: “This is a fun show where the gameplay is quick and clever with the type of easy to follow but innovative quiz that appeals to all audiences. For broadcasters, it’s also an extremely cost-effective production with the added appeal of a distinctive set. SBT is the ideal partner to take the format into Brazil and to have Celso Portiolli on board to host is a real honour – the show fits perfectly with his charismatic and personable approach.”
