Fresh from NHK Japan is UNKNOWN CHAMPIONSHIP a highly entertaining competition format that focuses on showcasing perfection in unusual skills used in every day jobs. We take pre-existing professional competitions and make them TV friendly. This series offers a blend of entertainment, drama and emotion. Introducing viewers to a range of remarkable and extremely passionate individuals, desperate to showcase their rare talents.

Each episode focuses on a new set of skills specific to a job or industry. The workers have an opportunity to compete in a series of tough challenges, time trials and demonstrations to prove they are the best at their job.

For instance. Did you know Doctors compete to make origami cranes using laparoscopic surgery instruments? But that’s not all. In another episode we visit the annual dog grooming competition that includes a number of techniques including the speed classic poodle trim. There are so many specialisms the possibilities are endless, they’ve already made 4 seasons in Japan.

The competitions are niche but mesmerizing.

All the while we are treated to a comedic voice over by a famous sports commentator. To give us a series that is fun eye opening and just maybe we too can learn a skill we didn’t know existed.
